The September assignment was to try a California wine. I scoured the aisles of our local Farm Fresh for an interesting label and ran across this gem. And at $10.46, the price was right so I picked it up. My mom and I tried it on Sunday with a pork dish I made and my husband and I tried it last night with Mexican take-out.
I didn't know what to expect - normally my wine consumption is limited to Rieslings and sweeter dessert wine (one reason I joined this group - to broaden my horizons). I really liked this wine. It was pleasantly fruity without being overpowering. There was a touch of sweetness that kept it balanced rather than dry or acidic. It paired nicely with both meals, as well as alone later in the evening! I would definitely purchase this one again.
Note: The name refers to the three wines that were mixed to make this smooth concoction: Chardonnay, Muscat and Chenin Blanc.

Looks like you found a winner -- will keep my eye open for that one (the label will make it a funny hostess gift)
Cheers!
I love the name of this wine. Several years ago, when Mr. PunditMom and I were in Napa, we did a tasting at this winery. I must confess that I wasn't particularly fond of this one (sorry!), but maybe it was a bad year.
Sounds interesting. There are many jokes to make about the name. I hope someone's checking the searches that come to this site.
I like the Menage a Trois red (pleasant easy drinking red for many light fare type meals like pizza, burgers and the like) whereas the white just seemed out of balance in the blend.
I would love to become a member of this group. I love wine and have worked in the wine industry before for 3 years + not to mention my years in the restaurant industry (tooooo many). I have ran tastings for private organizations...I mean w/e I like grape juice. If you want me you got me. Let me know!
Hey CPA Mom, I bought a bottle of this wine and am going to try it out tonight! Thanks!
My mother live in Mississippi and loves this wine... but we don't get it here in England, I don't think.
With a name like that, I will HAVE to try it!
The name cracks me up...i definitely will not forget it when looking in a store for it. With Reisling being one of my favorite wines...perhaps, I'll have to check this one out. Thanks for the info.
